I ordered my Petty yesterday. I have been holding off getting the Hurtubise plymouth waiting until the Petty car is available so they can ship together. I cant wait

So I have a parts box dedicated to just these models. I am completely nuts over these cars.

As much as I hated them a few years ago, here I am today having them all and we are racing the paint off them.

A lot has to do with parts being more readily available. Dickie and the gang at SCC will likely buy an Island on just my parts orders :)

They may not be 100 percent perfect, but close enough for my racing eyes, and when you see these cars 4 wide sweeping through the turns, it's just a sight to see!

Yeah 1967 was an amazing year for Petty. Heres a few trivia facts. in 1967 Richard won 27 races. Out of the 48 races in 1967 he finished in the top 5, 38 times & the top 10, 40 times. Remember this was when they were still driving on dirt tracks, superspeedways etc so there was a large range of tracks.

Something else that is interesting, Richard built 3 brand new cars for 1967. He didnt really like there performance in the first few races so they got out there 1966 cars & changed some of the sheetmetal to a 67.

Harry, I just reread your tuning article for these cars. A few questions about the gearing in that article. When using 19mm slotit gear there is no need for chassis modification to get the right gear mesh? If you choose 18mm gearing modification to the chassis is needed? Is that correct?

Performance wise is there any real difference between the gear sizes? Just wondering why you would choose 18mm?

Also can you fit any larger rubber under the back? Wider? Taller?

Im going to tune a few of these puppies.
