I am using the kits front wheels on my build, I am going to fill my hubs with metal filled epoxy or JB weld, and true them up

Well, mine is higher than Tom's...but it runs ok. I thought of that too...and you know, "shoulda, coulda, woulda" came in. That is usually what happens when I see Tom work his magic.

But I think you should keep it and just test it. See how it stacks up. Then we can refine them. We are only going to build 30 or 40 of these, so we have time to perfect our designs :)

Sure, I like that number better.

Then there are the Jalopys, Bombers, and then the 1/32 Dirt Series...Carrera/Monogram classic series. And can't forget the full range of road course series. SCCA-T/A, Lemans Classics etc.

We need to think about vintage F1 too...why not?

And we need to discuss Carrera 1/24. With that new combo track, I think some big classics are in order.

Funny, I have been looking at the builds and a couple of times I wanted to post a question about the height difference between the different builds, but wasn't sure what to write. I think the higher ones look better but I am curious if there will be a significant difference on the track

But,at risk of teaching Grandma to suck eggs, before you start thrashing it round the track, do you think it could do with a little Plummer block-type bearing on that long drive shaft?

Hello Sir, I've so much admiration for the effort and precision that has gone into the making of your midget chassis. I too have bought a couple of Revell midgets.
They are both the Kurtis with the Edelbrock Equipped V8/60, #27.

I have very limited hand function but I was hoping to have a midget slot car somehow and I was wondering (hoping!) that I could get a hold of a more standard chassis suitable for a midget that would be simple to either make or buy? Further investigations have got me to the stage of the 'womp womp' slot car chassis which has a wheel base of 3 inches. Similarly there is the sprintcar version of the same chassis with the width shortened to 1 inch. Or should I change to the body made by 'bigdonkey' instead?




Do you know of any parts available which would complete the model, eg roll bar, side crash bars, roll bar and front/rear bars? Please note the cars would be mainly for looks and a bit of fun on the track rather than performance.
