Nova Sportsman

Finished a Nova sportsman candidate for the "Showdown" today.
Trying a little something tricky..... ;)
Back in the day, some 1:1 racers used a spring bar trailing arm.
It allowed the wheelbase on that side to stretch out under loads, keeping the car straight
until braking for the corner, when it would lengthen to allow better cornering.
I used square tubing with a smaller diameter square tubing & a washer soldered to it for the axle tubes.
I have 2 pieces foam in one the left side fastened by a dab of silicone.
The right side has just one piece allowing the axle to shorten on acceleration, but lengthen on braking.
It seems to work on my track with little or no wheel hop........now on to HRW for the real test.
Hope the crown gear don't strip.

I used a n RMS Nova casting with the usual (for me) 3/64 brass rod chassis.
Cox gears, Big Mama braid, Parma Guide, Paul Gage urethanes, Piranha motor.
Painted with Ace Hardware white primer under red, home-printed decals with a coat of floor wax.
