Tri-Fives still cooking.....

Postby strangebrew » Wed Sep 19, 2018 5:24 pm

I managed to sneak away from the family stuff to use a free pass I had for the local dirt track last Friday.
...........................Nice to see one of these guys still kicking butt on the old bull ring............

What year Chevy is that? Looks like a '57, but not sure since the shoebox style went from '55 - '57. Can't see if the rear fins are prominent enough to be a '57.

It's a '56. The taillight buckets are too big for a '55 & the hood is smooth, it doesn't have the raised mounds along the sides for a '57's twin hood ornaments.

Thanks for everyone's input. It pains me to think back and realize that when I was a teenager in the mid-late 60's drooling over muscle cars I couldn't afford, cars like this where probably available for a few hundred dollars with plenty of spare parts in junk yards.

Anyone know where I can borrow a time machine?
