Got the new Circuit Specialists power supply installed last night.
At first there were problems and we weren't making much progress. There was WAY too much power for this little track regardless how we adjusted voltage and the surge protection in the Carrera power bases kept tripping regardless what we did. (Still using the Carrera power bases so we can have the 2.4 ghz wireless controllers.)
THEN.....
We found that little 18.9 volt fixed switch in the back! Turned that off an all the magic of an adjustable power supply came to life! We tried several different settings and learned quite a bit. For example, over 11 volts we would occasionally still trip the surge protection. Right around 9 volts seemed the best for this little bullring (12 feet by 4 feet).
All in all, my son and I had a lot of fun racing wheel to wheel and laughing as we battled back and forth.... I mean, um ….. My son and I learned quite a bit as we scientifically experimented with different settings and variables to find the best circumstances. 8-) We did NOT allow ourselves to experience any enjoyment. 8-)
