Resin Redo's

Postby strangebrew » Mon Mar 12, 2018 12:40 pm

Haven't built anything since the shootout............
Decided to re-do all my vintage modifieds. Refined, re-proportioned & re-molded all of my original bodies, to make
them smoother & better proportioned. Narrowed some, shortened some & completely rebuilt others.
I still have 5 or 6 to do & got a couple new additions to go yet.

Nash Metropolitan - Henry J - Gremlin - Mustang II

'36 Chevy coupe - '38 / '40 Ford coupe - Monza Fastback - Willys coupe

Vega Hatchback - Plymouth Arrow

A couple fantasy mods.....90's Gran-Prix - 90's Thunderbird

Yo Brew - can you spare a '36 Chevy body?

I haven't scratch built a chassis in years and this would get me going again.

How much?

Wow, looks great Brew. After this dreadful trip back to where I grew up, I'll had to try churning out of a few from my younger days of watching these across the border from you in northwestern indiana. Mainly from the pictures I find from the Rennselear and Henry's speedways.

This looks like a good place to ask: Do Modifieds generally have about the same wheelbase as the car they were spawned from, or was it common to stretch or shorten them? I'm considering an attempt at a Modified for the next Showdown, and wheelbase would be the starting point.

in the 1:1 world, wheelbase was a factor of the rule book. Of the 4 tracks in my area back in the day, wheelbase differed anywhere
from 99" to 103" minimum. In the 1:32 slot car world, I build mine from 3 1/4" to 3 3/4" depending on what looks right.
