Just finished another asphalt bandit. This one is a 65 mustang. shaved all the chrome and trim, opened up the wheel wells, built a hood scoop and half tray interior. Sitting on a modified and soldered H&R Chassis, running a piranha motor with 9/31 gears. Color is Krylon heavy metals red over a gray primer base. Decals are a mix and match like all my cars. wheel inserts are from performance plastic products wide five floater hubs. Just a another Sportsman for the oval.

Thanks Guy's! I kinda like this one myself. My PG wide tires will be here today, and I cant wait to true them up and see how they run with some traction. The Silicones that come on the H&R Chassis don't work well on my track. With the piranha motor and 9/31 gears, I think they should be a handful to race. These short track cars a hoot to build, and there is a lot of body choices available in this scale. I hope to build more in the near future.
I use the H&R Chassis on these so that anyone that wants to put a car together to run on my track, can pretty much build one over the counter so to speak. I do a lot of modifications to the chassis, so it does not really save time over a scratch built brass unit, but those mods aren't needed to be competitive. The price comes out about the same all things considered.

That is certainly a nice looking build. I'm hopeful that someone will start producing a 1/32 notchback.

Love to see all of these 1/24 oval track builds - great stuff - this is the stuff I like.

I did a bunch of wide 5 inserts for the big hub H&R wheels and the big hub Pro Tracks - I will send you a set to try out if you like. I mastered the resin pieces with 3D modeling.
