Very cool, great photo. We've had a couple of those invitational tour races here on Long Island. Problem now is, the local track groups are fracturing into separate smaller circuits, with different rules packages. I'm primarily racing HO (heavy on the pancake motor style chassis) a few days a week, but there is a 1/24 oval I compete on when I can get there.
Maybe I'll see Ray again at the RTS Model Expo (formerly MassCar) in Taunton, MA on the 19th. I'll be set up there with my Model Auto Parts vendor booth once again, right up by the stage in the front of the main room. Come on by and say hello, you'll love the model car/truck/bike exhibit, and the vendor market is also very good.

Looks like you guys had a GREAT time! -- Ernie :>)

We run on A 6 lane flat track and have not had much luck with big motors like the Hawk and Falcon 7. Most of our guys like the Slick 7 MiniBrute, and now the SRP 30k motor. JK has released a replacement for the MiniBrute, the JKMB. All the SRP motors are under $10.

we run the hawk 7 in these at 9ish volts each lane is a little different to keep them even. I like the big motors it makes it harder to get the cars to handle.

At Small Torque Motor Speedway here on Long Island, we run the H&R blue motor (40K rpm?) in the Reality Mods on a 4 lane, 40 foot lap length oval.
Tony runs 12 volts of clean battery power for all classes - Mods, SuperMods, FCR hard body Cup Cars, and hard body Modified Coupes.
Reality Mods run laps in the very low 2 second range.
Enjoy! -- Ernie :>)
