Re: spraying clear over decals

Yes, I jumped a step. Harry is right, Future is the way to seal them when they are applied and dried in place. I was thinking about making a decal stronger on the sheet before applying. There are several clears that will strengthen the decal before you wet it, and Tamiya clear is one of them. For dr...

Re: What is your all time favorite slot car race set?

One of our guys here at HRW is directly connected to that track in Louisville, on Bardstown Rd, not far from Lexington. I saw it in 1987, not long before the fire that destroyed that shop.

Re: What is your all time favorite slot car race set?

Christmas, 1961? Maybe 1962, there was a Stirling Moss Aurora Thunder Jet Figure Eight set under our tree. I had it assembled before my mother had breakfast ready. I ran it all day. I began saving my allowance that day to get more track. I extended one loop of the figure 8 by 4 straights, 2 on each ...

Re: Newest SLC

I had so much fun with mine, I bought the two-ended Safari version, too. There's very little they need right from the box. Just a centrally located weight, and of course, truing the wheels and tires all around.

Re: 63 Ford Sportsman In Progress

Nice car, Harry. I always wanted a convertible '63.

BTW, the wire brush for Dremel works pretty good, too, but it will start flinging tiny wires out if you press too hard.

Re: 57 Ford Fairlane hanging Molotow Pen Chrome

Also- * always tape any area you don't want chromed (it will come off just fine with a razor knife, don't worry) * be sure and really score the tape, because it will find any weak points in the tapes seal (yes, it will slip under the masking tape the same way any thinned paint will, so burnish it we...

Re: Magnets or no magnets , help me wunderstand

Maybe the proof of " enjoy them anyway you can. There is no wrong way. " is that I agree with everything that has been said. I will say that I dislike magnets for the unnatural way they make the car run around like its on rails. I pretty much always run on wood. The boxes of plastic track ...
