Re: So what slot car toys did Santa bring you?

I was going to pass up anything this year, then the boys at SCC whipped out a sale and I bought 4 I have been stalling about.

Re: TGIF - Looking back on 2017

2017 around here was the year of That Just Can't Happen disasters. Crazy stuff. Nothing dangerous, but several times of great sadness and/or loss in many ways. I have been told for years that at my age I can expect people I know to die more often than before in my life, but but there were a cluster ...

Re: Shop truck w.o.p

Okay, Christmas is over, get back to OUR truck. We've adopted it. I want a video with sound when that thing cranks the first time.

Re: Drop in section

Are the braids insulated from each other? Are you saying that all 3 lanes collapse into one or they get very close together?

Re: SCOTY Award - Slot Car of The Year 2017

I go with the Javelin, too. By the way, it runs very even with the sidewinders (better than some), so don't make the mistake of passing on it as just another inline chassis. I did almost nothing to it and it is equal to my Mustangs, Camaros, and other TransAm cars. No problems. The Scalextric Falcon...

Re: The "other" hobby...Electric Football

I think mine was Cleveland Browns vs. Ny Giants, circa 1960 or so. Do they still have the white felt footballs and the kicker? Were all of them made by Tudor? Mine was.

Hey, did you see the CFL double 50 yard line?

Re: Slot Car Appraisal/Valuation Question

Years ago, I had to update my slot car inventory for insurance. I made a note that the prices I listed were for "replacement" values, and they accepted it without question. At that time, there were 700+ cars, and a huge list of tools and particularly paints and parts. They simply valued th...

Re: Wanted: bare Scalextric NASCAR sidewinder chassis

If you mean "crooked" or twisted chassis, there is an easy solution. Catch some hot water in something big enough to drown the chassis, after everything is off of it. press it flat, and when the resistance is getting slack, take it out and block it down flat on a surface to cool. Presto. S...

Re: Looking for help with 67-68 Firebird (Jerry Titus)

Weird how that happens, huh? I like RMS dust most, too. I suspect it has something to do with the elaborate "autoclave method" he uses to eliminate bubbles in the resin. Its just superior, and that's all there is to it for me. I have 9 bodies from David that I have carried for a long time,...
