Re: Sportsman Showdown Best In Show Voting!

That was a very hard choice. #2 has been a car I enjoyed seeing progress on and I really wanted to vote that way, but the #7 big red Mexicana Tortilla car just got to me.

Re: History of the 1/32 Monogram Cooper Ford mold??

I just dug mine out, and on the rear deck, center, it is 1.37mm. Marking inside is "1964 Monogram Models, Inc".

Re: Long Wei 30v-10a PS problems

I apologise if this is insulting, but have you turned it off, unplugged it, and waited 10 minutes? The circuit breakers the Chinese typically use are tiny little buggers, and resetting can take up to 20 minutes. You could easily have mistaken one of them for something else.

Re: 1/32 engines

Mark's engines are great. When he opens up shop again, I'm going to get a new supply.

Re: The Car Aficionada with Mopar Jenny

Yep. I'm very proud of her work. I tell everybody about it. I've only recently started telling people online about it. Her product testing is the fairest in the land, too. She's going to keep on picking up sponsors and get rich I hope.

Re: Need a soldering gun

You can use clips for a heat sink in strategic spots to protect joints you already made. It doesn't take much, and there are loads of clips out there. My favorite is a little steel clamp I found at Kroger, of all places. I just pull the red plastidip off the tip, and it works great. Manuscript clips...

Re: The ALL-New Palmer Divide Raceway!!! Updated 01-26-2018

"Lastly, I still get comments like; "RIR didn't have trees.". I know. This is an homage, not a replica, and I like trees. So there."

David, when did you become funny? LOL. Gorgeous track, as usual.

Re: Rally at Cherokee point

One of my favorite things to do. I just gotta get my track up and running. I'm in withdrawal.

Re: Need a soldering gun

For silver solder flux, you must wash the finished item thoroughly. Anything that will solder will corrode from silver solder flux.

Re: Need a soldering gun

I had two Wellers and a WEN over the years, the best one was the earliest Weller, my second gun. I used it for over 20 years, using a small torch as a backup for smooth joints. I swear by my wonderful Hakko these days, but there's nothing wrong with a Weller as a starter. Gameover, what's a "go...

Re: Carrera 2018 Catalog

I can't believe I'm the one who has to be the one who points out that Carrera is not our friend any more. I will almost surely buy for a very good price on something new and good, but I won't forget that they are not to be trusted. Anything less than 100% perfect gets returned.

Re: Roller Test Bench

Once you have one of these, you will never want to be without it. This is mine, made from a 1965 Dynamic block that was junk. I used Corian so it is a setup block, tire/wheel sander, roller with adjustable loading, and the desk top power supply has volts and amp meters. It takes around 2 minutes to ...

Re: LeMans Miniature Ferrari 330

Is that big "32" supposed to mean its 1/32nd? And when did LMM start making decent looking chassis? I'm used to LMM as a very expensive, near perfect body on a turd chassis, requiring a lot of work to get them to run. This thing doesn't look like LMM at all to me, and that's a compliment t...
