Re: Pledge Revive it - Future

Wow. How many names has corporate America slapped on a product that actually works?!?

Thanks for keeping up, Harry.

Re: 1957 Dodge Coronet

That is a very good scale effort on that car. Not easy for the big sleds of the 1950s-early 60s. Reminds me of my 1966 Coronet 500. I loved that car. You did great, and that car actually did come in those colors. I trust you knew that.

Re: Your new grill Harry,

The old steel coffins would be great grills. I never thought of it, but seriously, it really would. I may have to consult Craig's List. You could do 10 big whole pork shoulders on there, and the lids would roll up the smoke perfectly. All you would have to do is put in a smoke stack that opens all t...

Re: Postimage...is it OK for you?

I only use Firefox, my operating system is Linux only, and after firing photobucket, I went to Postimage and have never had a single moment of regret. Its not only more dependable, its faster- much faster. There close to 1000 images on mine, never a problem.

Re: Pan-American Plymouth

I really enjoyed the big Pan-Am proxy we did here on HRW a few years back. I did a Tucker complete with six exhausts, and mud all over it with clean spots where the wipers were. My trouble was my decal work that was so hard to do got covered in the mud splash.

Re: A car you don't see every day...

I had two of those when they came out years ago, and I still regret selling one of them. The others had liveries that were not nearly so spectacular.

Re: Scaley Dodge Challenger and Mercury Cougar

Of the Scaley Trans Ams, the '69 Camaro has been consistently fast, with the '70 Camaro very close behind, especially when the body has been lowered just a little. The Mustang is fast but doesn't seem to handle the exact same way, making speed on the straight and losing it to the Camaros in the turn...

Re: Scaley Dodge Challenger and Mercury Cougar

I didn't mention how I got the Cougar to run well, because it involved making it a different car underneath, like Crockett's Camaro. Since that is completely useless info for Bob, I left it out. But the essence of it for the Cougar is a balanced brass chassis with a speedy motor and nice gears. Not ...

Re: Mildly Stupid Question-Cut Down Wheel Inserts

For years, I used a Harbor Freight mini belt sander to great effect. I have used a drill with a sanding board, a Dremel on low rpm, etc. These days, I use a rig I made for my lathe which is much faster and very precise. I generally use a lathe tool for the rib, and a 100 grit sanding board to get th...

Re: HSRR McLaren

Look at the articulating elements of the steering. Twitch it back and forth using the guide to find any hangups. I have found that they need just a little bit of oil at each joint (and sometimes a little filing of the joint elements), and the guide needs a touch of soft white grease like the RC guys...
