Re: How I'm spending the rest of my week

Most of the things that drive me nuts as I age are the vestiges of injuries I got when I was much younger, including my arthritis, bursitis, nearly fused lower back, and crunched up left hand. Add that to my heart and lungs, and I'm basically a mess. The reason I list them here, is that you are much...

Re: Ink wash

Depending on the size of the line I want, I might use blackwash (thinned down tempra or acrylic), or even a Sharpie fine point.

The same wash works for your driver, but you need to experiment to find the textured faces you need for that. I don't know where to get them these days.

Re: New MINI Countryman WRC

I think you are remembering the Austin Clubman, which was so ugly trains would duck down a dirt road to avoid them. Here's the Clubman of the Mini line: http://i1267.photobucket.com/albums/jj547/waaytoomuchintothis/HRW/MiniClubman_zpsdfabb15c.jpg http://i1267.photobucket.com/albums/jj547/waaytoomuch...

Re: How Many (1/32) Slot Cars In Your Stable?

I'm a little embarrassed. I have a little over 1000, between the 1/24 and 1/32. I built around 30 of them, in both scales. I'm going to sell a few soon, on HRW.

Re: rebate bit

You can always cut whatever you want with a conventional bit or combination of bits. There's nothing that says you need to make the finished cut in one pass, afterall.

Just remember, the only enemy your bit has is heat, so pay attention.

Re: New MINI Countryman WRC

That British Leyland disaster really was a tragedy for all British marques, but it has to be said, Lucas didn't get any worse! How could it? Loose, Unsoldered Connections And Shorts, that spells Lucas. I had an MGA, can you tell? I still loved that car, even with the sparking dashboard and wipers th...

Re: Decale help

At the first LSR in Cincinnati, I did a Mercedes streamliner from the 1930's, and got my decals from Patto's. Even the plaid seat covers were on the sheet.

Here are the cars that inpired my car, repeated so you understand. Its a soda thing, ya see... http://i1267.photobucket.com/albums/jj547/waa...

Re: Video comparison of the Difalco and PM Controllers

Yeah, there's a lot of us in that situation. My hands are huge-- always have been. In high school (horses and sabers, etc- cavalry military school before they became unfashionable), when we were in formal dress whites, cross belts and all that crap, they had to special order gloves for me and two of...

Re: 1958 Plymouth Fury

Don't sweat it! DM and I will make that car famous on two continents! We love stuff like this! Besides, the 1959 Plymouth Fury is the car I learned to drive in. And, as it happens, it was exactly the color scheme that the movie used for Christine. My first car was a 1952 Dodge Meadowlake, but I took...
