Re: Monogram/PM Kit in!

This is going to be very interesting. The Monogram bodies were great, the nice interior is a big bonus, and because so many of us have done all kinds of stuff with these exact bodies, folks who are new to all this will have a tremendous available library of information to draw from. No fear! I expec...

Re: Monogram/PM Kit in!

Yeah, it was a great time to be teenager, all right. The first of the Monogram chassis for the stockers was a real embarrassment. Several problems that were exaggerated by a big spur gear and out of scale small tires. They got better pretty quick. For us it was an excuse for tearing into it with lot...

Do you still have the little Chevron (Wynn's)? I'll take it, if so.

Great article, don't miss this!

I got a hit on this article because I had a typo on a search, and I am so grateful for old man hands that sometimes miss keyboard keys. For those of you who born after 1965 or so, the names like Stirling Moss, Jack Brabham, Juan Manuel Fangio, Phil Hill, etc, might be the stuff of stories and race a...

Re: Some of my Board track racers on display.

And he's really, really good at all of them. I wanna be his next door neighbor so I can watch the things he makes come rolling out of the garage.

Re: New toy in the shop!

Ah yes, a Lucas Resurrection! And that car was built before the silly looking big black bumpers on British Leyland cars. It might pre-date BL altogether, which would be great. When that Midget was built, they were still making the sister car, the Austin-Healy Sprite, which by the time this was built...

Re: Wheel Inserts

Here's some of the ones I use. The ones in the little zip locks were made by someone on HRW, or their friend- it was a long time ago. Maybe someone out there remembers? There are also some excellent casters on our scratch building topic. https://s6.postimg.org/b396mos2p/IMG_2164.jpg https://s6.posti...

Re: Figure 8 oval?

A few years back, the Chicago crazies did a destructo figure 8 flat track with a crossover, and it was routed!!! They staged a race!?!? that encouraged insane additions to cars, like giant wood screws, knife blades, claws, talons, etc. Not surprisingly, I don't think a winner was declared. But there...

Re: More photos from the Hornby Booth NY Toy Fair 2018

Scaley needs to look into the final decorations for that Challenger. Is it a 440 Six Pack with the wrong hood (no black field), or a 340 with the right hood? Note the front license plate. Was there a 340 that year?

Re: More photos from the Hornby Booth NY Toy Fair 2018

By 1970, I was distracted from cars by blurting out a proposal to my current wife (46 years now), so I am guessing based on memory. My '66 4-speed Dodge Coronet 500 had a 383 Commando 4bbl, with the Carter removed along with the stock manifold. I had a 750 Holley Thermoquad on an Offenhauser manifol...

Re: Attention! Major announcement! Congrats Dave K

Well Dave, you earned our respect and friendship. As you start this new adventure, with all the support and well wishes from HRW guys, you go with the same support you have had before. For me, it was hinted at before, but really solidified at Bruce's place for the Land Speed Record, after the SCX ch...
