Another Food Topic

I get a lot of requests for this recipe, too, so I'm jumping the gun and posting it. There's no season for this, its always good, all the time. For those of you who remember Pancho's Mexican Restaurant in West Memphis, Arkansas, this is the cheese dip for tortillas that was served while you waited f...

Re: Another Food Topic

You're certainly welcome. The Panco's Cantinas in Austin and San Angelo are one chain, the Pancho's Restaurants in El Paso, Dallas/Ft Worth and around Houston are different. While I was in Waco, I drove around a lot, learning as much as I could about the food. I found the best chicken fried steak on...

Re: Another Food Topic

Hogan, that wasn't a reputation, that was a promise! They also owned one in a seedy section of old town, called the Lamar Drive-in, which was situated in such an odd spot that although it was small by comparison to the other drive ins, it showed all R and X movies, and couldn't be seen from anywhere...

Re: What is wrong with the kids today?

Its all true, and by the way, do you guys love seeing pictures of Jeremy's little girls working on slot cars as much as I do? It is also true, for what its worth, that young adults who were video gamers and continue to be gamers now are naturals on a slot car track. There are all kinds of sophistica...

Re: Eddie Sachs

I remember seeing it live on TV when I was 13. Because it was one of the first things I ever saw in color, I saw it in my mind again and again for years. In fact, I think it was supplanted by another terrible crash or I might still see it in my mind. Big impression.

Re: New MINI Countryman WRC

I've liked them ever since I started calling them X-Box (which drives my son who knows what an X-Box actually is), crazy. But they ruined it after the first two years, anyway. More to the point, I don't know why people hated the real Clubman. Seemed okay to me. Apparently, the new fake Mini has a Cl...

Re: It's been a while

Love that Willys! Its amazing how much just a little work improves the looks of that model. Once the silly looking giant chrome wheels are replaced, you can really go to town on these rascals and do great things. The hot rod Deuces are the same way. Get the dumb wheels off, make the windshield verti...

Re: Video comparison of the Difalco and PM Controllers

Thanks for doing this, Dave. This is my best controller, an electronic Prof Motor from a few years back. I modified it with a cut-out relay (Bosch power tool), that completely eliminates the controller from the circuit at full throttle, and a Pachmayr pistol grip meant for a Walthers PPK (the Sean C...

Re: Proper use of an erector set for slot car tires

Harry's video brings up another important point I forgot. When he is mashing the silicone into the foam, he is making up for the fact that the foam isn't brand new from the box. I only ever did the method I talked about before when the tires were brand new. For tires that had been in stock for a whi...

Re: 1/24 Vintage Modified Coupe: Tom Baldwin #7

It really is inspiring. I meant to comment on this one in particular and life got in my way. This is the essential example. My Modifieds may look mean or go fast or whatever sometimes anyway, but this is a real beauty and its fast, and its realistic... Its just really good.

a suggestion

Because we are getting very progressive about proxies (internationally, for cryin' out loud!), I think we should include a scale column in the spreadsheet about our schedule. Most are 1/32nd, now, but there will be 1/24th, right? We need the scale posted.
