Re: My MB Slot Pagani Zonda not here yet

Well, mine showed up right on time, and sealed and complete. Maybe you guys should start following up on this now, since I ordered a couple of days after you did, I think.

Ultimate and insane

I don't remember if Ulrich called these things "Ultimate" or not, but I have always called them by that name. They had precise steering front ends, 4 wheel independent suspension, and ran so smooth you almost couldn't hear them on a commercial track. Insanely expensive, so I only saw them-...

Re: white paint turning

When white turns slightly yellow without coating, there is a vapor or fume in the air where it cured. When contractors paint a wall white in a building, they have to schedule the painting for after the sheet rock guys are gone and the mud is fully cured, because the white paint will turn an uneven c...

Re: 2012 1st Ever Truck Proxy Race

You can make it, Jeremy.

I think I may have set a new record for waay too much into this stuff. Last night I dreamed a slot car (really a truck), and I'm going to build it and hopefully send it to Jon's big day. Honestly, what's nuttier than dreaming a slot car?

Re: 2012 1st Ever Truck Proxy Race

Yup. We're way too much into this. By the way, I got the kits out and looked at the dream car/truck, and I can do it. I'm going to build it. Completely insane idea.

Re: Question

By "lift" do you mean it comes up and stays up down the straight, or does it hop along all the way there?

Re: Ultimate and insane

There were lots of motors in the early days of slot cars with that configuration. The best and most popular was Pittman. some of which were sold as Revell.

Re: Oh my, look what is coming from Flyslot

Exactly what I was thinking, Goose. But I still wonder what the reasoning is when a manufacturer does a car that has been done, especially one that wasn't all that famous to begin with? This is further complicated by the fact that there are hundreds of really famous and/or beautiful cars that have n...

Re: Cartrix 1196 universal chassis

That looks a lot like the PCS chassis that Pendle sold me years ago, and they were great. I ought to get some to set aside for future projects.

Re: Ultimate and insane

Good Lord, guys, that isn't mine! Its a picture from an old catalog. I hate to think what one of those would cost today. I just always thought they were cool. In the middle 60s, I dreamed about putting one under Ferrari 275 or 330 P, to show off the rear suspension.

Re: Oh my, look what is coming from Flyslot

[And one thing that Flyslot has probably noticed is that when a manufacturer does a car better, people buy the better car. NSR gobbled up Fly's 917K sales, so I'm wondering if Flyslot is taking aim at one of Carrera's more successful cars and making it better.] I don't think we are thinking straight...

Re: Le Mans Miniatures Bentley Speed 8 by ElSecundo!

Thanks for doing the work on this, Kurt. Very good work on a difficult subject. Unless there's a big price reduction I don't see myself ever looking for this car, but I love the Bentley Speed 8, and I have several made by others. A couple of them were hard to get the best from at first, but having l...
