Re: Over and Out!

Send him some square wheels, Dickie. He won't know the difference for days and it will be fun hearing about how he tries to figure it out in a purple haze.

Re: Great race day :)

Looks like a great day. "Bibbster's Babe" sure seems like good people, and she puts up with us, so that counts! Jeremy will do, too. I love that picture with the women looking in from the laundry. How long after the picture did they wait before taking the controllers away from both of you?...

Re: There's a large shunt on the track

It wasn't that hard to use the little steering wheels. I used to set the speed just a bit faster than what the track could stand, then use the brake button to intermittently brake just ahead of the turns. It wasn't hard to use them like a trigger, either. My first set was a Stirling Moss ThunderJet ...

Re: How Many (1/32) Slot Cars In Your Stable?

Well, there's around 600 of the HO cars, all TJets and a few Vibrators. Another 200 bare NIB chassis and about 400 bodies, assembled, with around 100 to be built someday. Of course, I can't see anything that small anymore...

Re: Monogram 1/32 Ferrari 330LM

Not to embarrass, but Monogram did re-issue the car, in a great little kit. There are still lots of them around, as well as the 375 that was offered at the same time. I have one of the originals too, and the newer chassis is soooo much easier to square up.

Re: Old Indy Oil Painting

Is there any reason to think that it is definitely Indy? It looks like a late 60s-early 70s Ferrari F-1. I would also guess that it is raining, and the car has just become almost airborne on one of the humps that several tracks in Europe had in those days. I thought at first that it was simply that ...

Re: Scalextric Charger 500

Does anyone else get the full force of how frustrating this car is, when David, of all people, throws away the kid gloves and straps on the gaunlets? Good one, David. I will say I will have one. I will also post a modification recipe using Carrera wheels, how to cut that incorrect year front grill t...

Re: Scalextric Charger 500

I was thinking about that, too. With many of the cars I would use that chassis for, those cheapo hubcaps would be a downright boon. Come to think of it, I never saw those on a Charger, but they were on just about every Roadrunner or Superbee I ever saw.

Re: Lucky find: 1967 Indy Turbine car

Okay, the Protoslot PYO2 chassis kit arrived today. I'm planning to use it under a an old spare Cooper T51 Scaley body that came with a trade a few years back. I'm looking at Pendle's for wheels and tires, and still waiting for the silver solder to show up. Update: I was wrong. It turns out I actual...
