Re: T-Bird Mod

What a great car and effort. All the modeling is cool as usual, but the "liberated" Sterling Marlin decals are just classic.

Re: Carrera guide replacement

Never heard of them. The issue for most Carrera is the height of the entire guide system , not the depth or length of the blade. They are mounted too high in the chassis and allow too much weight on the front. This makes the stock blade shallow in the slot, but just a deeper blade is not going to fi...

Re: How do I slow down the slim FF motors?

What a concept newbie :) Unfortunately, in these cars that doesn't work all that well. These motors just have too much torque and speed in non-magnet form (to me anyway) Having low cost motor options like the Minnow, M/T, etc make it a little easier on my wallet and worth the investment for me. Once...

Re: Easy Routed Track - Building Bottomland Speedway

Yes it was a 4 x 12.

No. The routed part is the slot only. I used copper tape and not braid for this track.

Re: Magnets or no magnets , help me wunderstand

It is nothing more than personal preference. Some people enjoy cars with magnets. They add even more and want that car planted as hard as it can be. If fun is being had? Mission accomplished. Others prefer the tuning challenges and the related driving challenge of non magnet. I don’t have any deep h...

Re: Newbie Help Please

Carrera DTM set LINK

Cars are some of the nicest out of the box cars.

Scalextric. I like the race app. More expensive, but you get 4 cars.

Repair/Strengthen Bodys

On some of our resin bodies with the wheel wells hogged out, there is not a lot of material there for strength. In combat, they might break or over time they might even sag a little. As a preventive and/or repair I like using very small brass rod. http://homeracingworld.us/TeamHRW/wp-content/uploads...

OttLite Mini Magnifier

Normally, this brand is VERY pricey and simply avoided it. Went into Joann's for The General to get her craft items and they had big %40 off sale. I can always use another right? Especially with my old eyes :) http://homeracingworld.us/TeamHRW/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/ott2.png It has two sizes of ...

Re: old gas station in my town

You will find this hard to believe, but we drive through your town on our way to visit our son at Ft. Sam. A buddy of mine retired there and he sent me a photo of that same station that he used as a reference for one he built on his track :)

Re: TGIF! - Relax a little

No snow here, but had a chance to get some shopping done for The General. http://homeracingworld.us/TeamHRW/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/xmasjewelry.png Hope she likes it. This set me back almost a $20 spot. :) Fun part of the night was watching the "Grinch" (Jim Carrey Version) and our youn...
